Cold‑Rolled Coil (CRC)
Cold‑Rolled Coil (CRC) is produced from pickled & oiled hot‑rolled coil. It is reduced by rolling at room temperature (below steel recrystallization temperature), followed by degreasing, annealing and temper rolling. Smooth surface without mill‑scale, tight dimensional tolerance, good flatness and excellent stamping performance. Can be cut‑to‑length or slit. It is key substrate for galvanized, galvalume and PPGI color‑coated coils. Higher cost than HRC, widely used for visible parts, precision stamping, home‑appliance and automotive components.
CRFH (Cold‑Rolled Full‑Hard Coil)
Cold‑rolled without annealing. High hardness, low ductility, only for simple bending. Main feedstock for galvanizing / galvalume, seldom used as finished product directly.
1. Main Types
1. By stamping grade
‑SPCC / DC01 Commercial grade: Simple bending & stamping, cabinets & enclosures. ‑SPCD / DC03 Drawing grade: General drawing forming. ‑SPCE / DC04 Deep‑drawing grade: Deep drawing for automotive inner parts. ‑SPCF / DC05, SPCEN / DC06 Extra deep‑drawing grade: Complex deep‑draw for automotive outer panels.
2. By surface quality
‑FB (Normal surface): General painted components. ‑FC (Improved surface): Home‑appliance shells. ‑FD (High‑quality surface): Automotive outer panels with strict defect limits.
3. Size range
Thickness:0.2‑3.0 mm; width:600‑1500 mm; coil inner diameter:508 mm; coil weight:5‑25 tons. Delivery condition: oiled or dry; available as cut‑to‑length sheets or slit strips.
2. Production Process
Pickled hot‑rolled coil → Cold reduction → Degreasing → Annealing → Temper rolling → Inspection → Finished coil.
3. Key Features
‑Room‑temperature rolling delivers tight tolerance, good flatness, clean scale‑free surface, suitable for painting and electroplating. ‑Annealed CRC has good ductility for complex deep‑drawn parts; full‑hard CRFH is hard with low ductility. ‑Compared with HRC: capable of thinner gauges, better tolerance & surface, but higher unit price. ‑Limitations: Poor economy for thickness above 3.0 mm, pickled HRC is preferred instead. Keep dry during storage & transport to avoid rust.
4. Typical Applications
Home‑appliance housings, electrical cabinets, metal furniture; automotive stamped parts; substrate for painting & electroplating; feedstock for GI, GL and PPGI; precision instrument casings; various cold‑stamped & bent components.
5. Standards
‑China: GB/T 5213‑2019 Cold‑rolled low‑carbon steel sheets and strips. ‑International: EN 10130, JIS G 3141, ASTM A1008M. ‑Russia / CIS: ГОСТ 16523‑97; common grades 08пс, 08кп. EAC declaration required for EAEU export.
6. Selection Guidance
- Simple cabinets & enclosures: choose SPCC / DC01. For drawing forming: SPCD/DC03. Deep‑draw parts: SPCE/DC04.
- For painted visible parts specify surface grade FC/FD; state oiled or dry condition.
- For Russia export: SPCC ≈08пс; deep‑drawing use 08кп.
- Order specification: grade, thickness × width, surface grade, delivery condition, MTC mill test certificate.
- CRC rusts easily; waterproof packaging and dry warehouse storage are required.
