Chock (Bearing Chock)

Roll chock is a critical load‑bearing component of rolling mills. The roll necks at both ends of rolls are fitted inside chocks via bearings. Chocks are installed in mill housing windows to transmit heavy rolling force, ensuring roll positioning, rotation and gap adjustment, which directly determine rolling accuracy and equipment stability.

Core Advantages & Functions

1. Holds and protects rolling bearings (rolling‑element bearing / oil‑film bearing), integrates lubrication, cooling and sealing oil passages.
2. Bears radial rolling force, axial thrust and impact load, transfers rolling load to mill housing and screw‑down system.
3. Moves up‑down together with hydraulic cylinders. The liner plates on chock sides slide along housing windows to guarantee roll alignment and gap precision.
4. Enables quick roll change and maintenance.
