Vertical Shaft Impact Crusher (VSI, Sand‑making Machine)
Vertical Shaft Impact Crusher (VSI) is high‑efficiency fine crushing & shaping equipment. Vertical high‑speed rotor accelerates raw materials, which are ejected at high velocity. Crushing and particle shaping are achieved via two modes: rock‑on‑rock and rock‑on‑anvil. It is core equipment for manufactured sand and aggregate shaping, widely applied in mining, aggregate processing, metallurgy and construction solid‑waste treatment.
1. Two Crushing Modes
- Rock‑on‑Rock: High‑speed material hits accumulated rock bed inside crushing chamber. Low wear‑part consumption, good cubic particle shape; suitable for highly‑abrasive ores.
- Rock‑on‑Anvil: Material strikes alloy anvil liners. Higher reduction ratio and larger capacity; for medium‑hard materials.
2. Main Components
Feed hopper, distributor, high‑speed rotor assembly, crushing chamber (liners / anvils), transmission unit, motor, machine frame, hydraulic cover‑opening device. Dual‑feed system (central feed + cascade overflow feed) is optional for flexible capacity and particle‑size adjustment.
3. Main Features
‑ Cubic‑shaped finished particles, integrating crushing and shaping functions ‑ Switchable crushing modes, compatible with granite, basalt, river pebble, limestone and other materials of different hardness ‑ Hydraulic cover opening for quick wear‑part replacement; stable operation, controllable dust emission ‑ Capacity: 20‑800 t/h; max feed size ≤100 mm
4. Typical Applications
Manufactured construction sand production; aggregate shaping for highway & railway; fine crushing in mining, pre‑grinding feed; crushing of metallurgical slag, refractory material and construction waste. Mainly used for tertiary & quaternary fine‑crushing stages in crushing plant.
5. Chinese Standards
‑ JB/T 10988 Vertical Shaft Impact Crusher ‑ GB/T 25701 General safety requirements for mining machinery
6. Selection Guidance
- Hard abrasive rock (basalt, granite): Prefer rock‑on‑rock mode to reduce wear‑part cost
- Medium‑hard material, high‑output requirement: Adopt rock‑on‑anvil mode
- Strict gradation requirement for manufactured sand: Activate cascade overflow feed to adjust particle size
- Frequent‑maintenance condition: Select version with hydraulic cover‑opening device
